imagePhiladelphia's first beer engine has left the building. It is with great sadness that Khyber Pass Pub announces the retirement of "Iggy, The Hand Pump."

Yards Brewing made the first cask-conditioned ale in Philadelphia, Yards ESA. Iggy was installed in order to serve this English style ale in the traditional English fashion.

In his farewell speech, Iggy told throngs of adoring fans, "It is my pleasure to have served the city of Philadelphia for so long. I poured beer for Ray Davies, Thurston Moore, Billy Corgan, Will Ferrell, Courtney Love, Anthony Kiedis and a host of other beer lovers in my long and storied history here at Khyber Pass Pub. I remember when good beers were called micro-brews. I remember when we were the only bar to carry "No Crap On Tap." During the last twenty years, the Philadelphia beer scene has become the envy of beer cities across the country. I may have been the first beer engine, but I am certainly not the last." (applause, applause)

Sometimes one hand pump's goodbye is also a hello. Iggy will be succeeded by two new hand pumps. Khyber Pass Pub's team now includes two hand pumps and 20 taps all serving micro-brews, ie, craft beers.

Khyber Pass Pub is now open from 11am until 2am daily.

Full menu served until 1am.

Happy Hour runs from 4pm-6pm Monday through Friday and includes $2 off all drafts, $1.50 bottles, and $1 off everything else.
