Comments 1.50 Add Comment yea i'd like to comment on the "racist" comments below....i went with a group of black, latino, white, and asian and all of us were let in free and were treated the same...maybe it was just that particular bouncer that night but i saw a very large variety of people being let in 11/18/2008 10:58:46 PM Guest
I am a latina and I disagree with both of your comments. The park is just like any other clubs it's all about who you know there. If you have friends who work there or are promoters you will be let in right away ofcourse that doesn't mean they are being fair but hey the world is just like that IT's ALWAYS ABOUT WHO YOU KNOW. 11/3/2008 8:32:22 AM Guest
I completely agree with the previous comment which stated that Park at 14th Ave is racist. I recently went on a Saturday night and was surprised and saddened by the blatant discrimination. Standing outside for half an hour, I noticed a clear discrepancy between who was let in and who was not. And this discrepancy had nothing to do with attire, behavior, or age. It was simply based on racial and ethnic background. White and Asian people who were not on the guest list were let in. And since it was lady's night, white and asian women were let in for free. However, African-American and Latinos were not. Additionally, those Black and Latino women that were "allowed" in were charged $10-20 each, despite the fact that it was ladies night and all ladies are supposed to be let in free.
I have heard stories of discrimination at Park on Fridays and Saturdays, and was hoping these stories were misguided or exagerated. However, this was not the case. The discrimination was blatant and unacceptable. If you believe in equality, you should not go to Park. CONS: Discriminatory practices. See above.10/8/2008 1:17:53 AM Guest
The Park is the most racist & over hyped night club in DC. The service is bad and the food is even worse. The Park only caters to a white crowd on weekends. If you are black or latino they will no let you in on weekends. You would think you were in the 60's. I saw many black people standing outside while white people were allowed to walk right in. Being a white man I was shocked to see this happening in our nation's capital. The door men were rude and even seen pocketing money from some while letting others walk in free. Seeing this while I was line was shocking. Once we got inside I was not very impressed with the club or service and my guest decided to go else where. The Park tries to dress up rascism with a new coat of paint but people can see it clearly. I will never go there again PROS: Nice decorCONS: See comments above8/31/2008 12:25:41 PM Guest
