Add Comment guest Monk's Cafe rated: 5 Excellent Belgian Beer Bar with the most unique international selections I have ever seen at one establishment. There are about 20 taps but there are 100s more in bottles - funny thing is that it is not the size of the selection that is so great but it is the diversity and rarity. If you are a beer lover and have the fortune of passing through Philadelphia make sure that Monk's is your first stop. The food is also incredible - I recommend any burger on their fresh baked sourdough rolls, or a pot of mussles in any of their flavors (Monks Mussels are great). I rank Monk's ahead of Eulogy bc of food and rarity of beer selections. PROS: Greatest beer in the city. Maybe the country! Excellent food. Knowledgeable servers.2/13/2010 2:22:00 PM
miket Monk's Cafe rated: 5 Best place in the city for a great beer. Their selection is always changing on taps in both the front and back bar (love the bar). It is expensive but they definately have the best beer bar vibe, selection of worldly beers, mussels...actually most of the food, and knowledgeable staff. Monks is heaven if you love beer. guest Monk's Cafe rated: 5 Monks is probably one of the best beer bars in the country, definately in the city. There are two bars with different belgian beers and US microbrews that are consantly rotating. Their mussels compliment the different beers well.
