Chickies is a great sports bar bottom line. Tons of TVs. Local radio stations, pro sports teams, and TV sports reporters all host nightly events at Chickies. It is located right down the street from the sports complex and the marketing geniuses behind this place have made chickies and petes crab fries as recognizable to Philadelphia as the cheesesteak. True Philly fans and residents will tell you that Chickies is over-rated or mainstream or whatever but the truth is that they are a dominant Sports bar with everything that someone would want in a sports bar when visiting Philadelphia: a feel for the city, great food, good drinks, fun crowds, lots of tvs, and tons of local philly sports fans. Whether you come to get buffalo wings, crab fries and few beers or you come with a bunch of friends to watch an eagles game with a mosnter beer tower at your table Chickies is the best. Also, they just opened an over-the-top cool place called Play-2 Interactive next door that is a cool, retro feeling, mutli-level bar featuring 20+ entertainment rooms that have couches, big screen TVs and popular video gaming systems from Wii rock band to PS3 Madden. There are lots of microbrews on tap and a simple menu as well. It is awesome.

Chickies has famous crabfries, but they also have mussels, crabs, and American staples like burgers, roasted pork, and buffalo wings. The atmosphere is friendly and family friendly but it still has the feel of a "neighborhood bar" - just a little dressed up. There are tons of huge tvs that always have every game on and there is a good selection of beer and liqour...and there is usually a special. The original Chickies on the blvd is much more neighborhood, old feeling but this establishment is right near the stadiums, has a great feel to it, and the food and drinks rule.
PROS:Parking lot. "Taxi crab" drives you to and from eagles, phils, flyers, or sixers games.
