"XP" is the abbreviation for Exceptional Pale Ale. This is our interpretation of a classic pale ale. Our "XP" (exceptional pale) has a golden color, and is very light bodied with a noticeable hop aroma and bittering element that just teases the hopheads but satisfies the newest of microbrewed ale drinkers. This beer is brewed with American Two Row, English wheat, Belgian, and Dextrin malts. Mix this with just the right amounts of Cascade and Centennial hops and you’ve got a winner!!

The little brother to big brother "Racer 5 IPA" XP is a good pale ale that has nice hints of floral hopiness and a smooth drinkability, but it fails to tie it all together for me. While I could see this being the best Bear Republic beer to appeal to the masses, and a pretty damn good beer, it just doesn't do it for me. I think it could use a few more hops or something to give it a little more flavor, but it was easy to drink and not a mistake to order...Racer 5 is just better to me.
